The mission of the Mobile Crisis Response Team (MCRT) is to help reduce involuntary Baker Acts by providing immediate, on-site crisis intervention in Florida’s Circuit 20, which includes Charlotte, Lee, Collier, Hendry, and Glades counties.

Each team is made up of Case Managers, Peer Specialists, Master’s-level Clinicians, and a Licensed Professional. The MCRT operates around the clock — 24/7 — to respond quickly and ensure the safety and well-being of individuals and the community.

What the MCRT Offers

  • On-site response within 60 minutes when someone is experiencing active suicidal or homicidal thoughts.
  • SAFE-T Suicide Risk Assessment (Suicide Assessment Five-step Evaluation and Triage), an evidence-based tool used nationwide.
  • Connection to appropriate services within 48 hours of the intervention.
  • Comprehensive support, assigning both a Peer Specialist and a Case Manager to every client.
  • Peer Specialist support lasting 30–45 days.
  • Ongoing Case Manager follow-ups for up to 120 days.
  • Outpatient counseling available on a sliding fee scale.
