Once service concludes, many Veterans are unprepared for a vocational transition to civilian life. In fact, there were 250,000 Veterans unemployed in the U.S. in 2022 ( Additionally, there are many unused educational benefits for Veterans and families. Our efforts assist in identifying these educational opportunities and helping our local Veterans seek educational funding.

In conjunction with the Ave Maria School of Law, WHC has been able to provide scholarship funding for 10+ Veterans and counting. There is also development of an expanded scholarship program for other local postsecondary education opportunities as well. Our efforts also assist with facilitation of Veteran access to educational/vocational opportunities at all levels of training.

Partnering with the Collier Community Foundation, we have funded a scholarship program for Veterans or their children living exclusively in Collier County. The scholarship can be used for undergraduate or graduate level courses, as well as vocational or certificate courses. WHC intends to fund four $2,500 scholarships annually. More information on the specifics of the scholarship can be found at This link will take you directly to the WHC scholarship program.

These efforts, combined with continued community awareness and collaboration with community agencies, help in providing for the educational/vocational needs of local Veterans. For more information, please visit this page.
